SKI!

So the Next Web Blog has taken all my time and energy these past few weeks. I posted a lot and talked to a hundreds of people. We have gotten a few advertisers, some traffic from Digg and a lot from Techcrunch. Our RSS feeds went from less than 100 to more than 3000 in a few days. And now I am packing my bags to get ready for one week on the slopes in Tirol. I will be sending as many photos to Flickr as possible and might even Twitter a bit. Loïs in Paris

This weekend Loïs (my daughter) visited Paris together with my parents. They visited the Centre Pompidou, the Eiffel Tower and went to a church to attend the first communion of my nephew. I stayed in bed most of the weekend and even yesterday with an upset stomach. But I feel much better...

Some of you know that we are planning a Bowlr.NL event here in Amsterdam on January 31, 2008 which, with 42 participating teams, is pretty much sold out. Tonight at 11:30 we are leaving Amsterdam to drive to Berlin, in one night. Tomorrow and wednesday we are visiting Web2.0 Expo Berlin and on Thursday morning we drive back. Bunch of iPhones

We ended up buying 15 iPhones in San Francisco earlier today. Then we went straight to the airport to catch our flight to Amsterdam. We carried three extra bags with 5 iPhones in each bag to distribute the weight evenly. When we loaded the iPhones into the x-ray machine the operator of the machine called over another security person who stared into the screen and then yelled “Oh my god, RUN!!!!”. First time ever that I met a security guy with a sense of humor. The stewardesses gave Patrick a special box in their kitchen to stash...

Leaving for San Francisco

Yesterday we hosted a huge dinner party (SideNight) at my parents house in Rotterdam with a bunch of active Dutch Twitterers and Biz Stone. Biz is one of the founders of Twitter and he was a keynote speaker at e.day. Today we are flying to San Francisco. Next week we are going to attend Techcrunch20 and we will be having some meetings with several Internet Entrepreneurs and a few companies to talk about The Next Web Conference, Fleck.com and some other projects.
