Weird Party….

No comment…

Okay, small comment; this was at the Supperclub. We were dancing, on the dancefloor when suddenly a guy, swinging from a rope, started butchering this doll that was hanging from the ceiling. The contents of the doll, candy and guns, were falling on the dancefloor. Very weird but fun.

Dinner with Plaxo and friends…

We are on our way to Rikk Carey’s new house in half moon bay in San Francisco. He is from Plaxo and he invited us and some other local entrepreneurs for dinner. Mark Fletcher will be there too. We had Rikk and Mark for dinner last year in Amsterdam and are looking forward to meeting them again.

1.2 million people and who do I bump into?

Yes, Patrick de Laive. Not that hard to miss in his white Fleck suit. He hadn’t slept all night and was working on a plan: he was buying stuff he could sell for more in one day. I’m sure he will make a bundle today.

It is Queensday in The Netherlands which means that everybody is dressed up in orange, buying and selling stuff on the streets and getting drunk.

Yesterday my pre-production Blackberry 8300 arrived. Since then I have been playing with it and trying to get everything to work. That isn’t as easy as it sounds because a lot of features aren’t enabled yet on this test model.

The camera isn’t working very reliable. As you can see.

But apart from that it is easily the best Blackberry I have ever used. The keys are great, the casing is beautiful and it feels smaller than most other Blackberrys. And if I get the camera working properly it will be the ultimate blogging machine for sure…

So proud…

We are in the city theatre of Amstelveen where Loïs is dancing in her first show. She is only 5. We are here at the balcony waiting for the show to start. 30 years ago I was a ballet dancer too. There were only 2 other boys and 300 girls. Admitting that I was a ballet dancer was a good reason to be picked on by all the bullies in school. But the yearly show was worth it.

And now Loïs is dancing too. I feel like I’m suddenly part of another generation.

Champagne and oisters

After we landed we called ahead to the Brix and had them set up a table with 9 oisters and a bottle of champagne. We are there now. We are tired, our feet hurt, and we are happy. The atmosphere, champagne and oisters might have something to do with that too…

Back, and made money

We just landed. The plane was full so we all had different seats. Patrick managed to sell a ticket for The Next Web Conference on the plane to the guy next to him.
