Shoeshine Event: Story and Photos
This morning I got up early to go to the offices of New Tailor to be in time for our shoeshine event. I shined a lot of shoes and talked to a lot of people. Next month I think we will start a little later and work a little longer to give more people an opportunity to get their shoes shined. Some people have to travel a bit and like to come later.
The networking aspect of the event really did work. It is very nice, and personal, to shine someone’s shoes. It is easy to talk during the process and it takes about 5 minutes which is perfect to ask a few questions and get to know people. I even heard one pitch (and saw a few screenshots) during one session.
There is a nice photo set on Flickr made by Frank Schuil from IRL. He made a few photos of me and Roel Wolbrink, the CEO of New Tailor when I was still practicing:

Boris, you should offer your customers the option of an interview for vlogging - worth at least an extra €2 per shine! €4 if live!
