Awards ceremony: Website van het Jaar
Yesterday evening I presented the ‘Website van het Jaar’ award ceremony in Hotel Arena in Amsterdam. The organization received more than 1.3 milion votes in 14 categories. I announced all the winners on stage, had a little chat with them and presented them with their prize.
The big winner was Google.nl. For all the winners see the ‘Website van het Jaar‘ website. IPAN was the host for this event and paid for some for the drinks.
I took this photo 1 minute before we started. As you can see you don’t see much on stage which makes it hard to get feedback from the audiences. Still, we had fun and I could hear people laugh now and then. If you were there leave some feedback here. Always love that.

Eeehm, lege zaal Boris? Maar… als IPAN het hosten, waarom wist dan ook ik er niets van als IPAN lid?
It was pretty chilly in Hotel Arena, but your nieces warmed up most of the audience I believe. But you did a good job, except for skipping that one category ;)
Pretty chilly? My ass was frozen!
But it was a great evening, Boris did his job right. I actually liked the Belastingdienst “winner” who claimed “moeilijker kunnen we het niet maken”. How could they win this contest in their category of “non profit” tsk tsk.
You presented them with their PRICE? What was the price for Google.nl? ;-)
I think you meant to say PRIZE, my dear Boris. Your English is still a million miles ahead of my Dutch, so I am not being critical - it’s just a hilarious idea you saying ‘Well done Google - here is your price!’
Thanks David for correcting me! Always let me know when I do things like that. I want to keep learning!!!
