The difference between the computer desk in the software and your real desk is the functionality of "shortcuts" to sort, clean, move or even share the things on the virtual desktop ;-) 
And even capture, go back and share ;-)

		<description>Lately i've been spending a bunch of time with iPhoto grouping older photos and even ordering an album. I can imagine that this type of interface would be really cool to use because iPhoto isn't that intuitive in it's use..

But every time i see a demo of this kind of interface i immediately foresee great amounts of clutter. Because the demo's almost always consist of stacking items/photo's on top of each other which reminds me of how i deal with stuff my desk.
