@krijn: the future of Twitter is remote interaction. We plan to offer that via TwitterMail.com. This is just the start...

Thanks Bram. But for this purpose there are many clients available (also for the blackberry to keep this blog's owner as an example;-) But hey, I don't want to discourage you guys, I'm just worried - as I said - that this kind of servcices results in broadcasting in stead of interacting. Let's wait and see.

Hi, Krijn. The TwitterMail concept is simple: you fill in your Twitter credentials and you receive a unique secret email address. Every time you send an email to that address the message body will be posted on your Twitter account.

It isn't our goal to change the way people use Twitter, it's our goal to complement the Twitter service with the ability to Twit via email. Because a lot of people are very email orientated (for example the owner of this blog..). It's just a piece of comfort or a solution.

If you want to read responses to your Twittering or you want to read Twittering from other users you still have to go to the Twitter.com site.

(But we're working on something.. ;) )

Boris, perhaps I don't really understand the concept, but to me an email-to-twitter service doesn't benefit the Twitter concept. Imagine everyone would start posting by mail... Nobody would read anything! It's like we're al talking at the same time. That's no conversation.
To me, reading the tweets of interesting people is one of the things that makes Twitter as interesting as it is.
Can someone proof me wrong?
