Confessions of a Serial Entrepreneur?
Yeah, sounds like something I would come up with.
But I didn’t!
Stuart Skorman (founder of Elephant Pharmacy, Hungryminds.com, Reel.com, and Empire Video) chose it as the title for his book:
Confessions of a Serial Entrepreneur:
Why I Can’t Stop Starting Over
His PR Manager asked me if I would be interested in reading it and then sent me a copy. I am saving it for my two week vacation next month.
Some of the things Stuart writes about:
- A large ego is not just good for an entrepreneur – it’s necessary. We want to make things happen. We are determined to achieve greatness.
- Starting a business is rampant with emotional extremes. You’ll need to harness the terror, joy, greed, passion, and desperation to work in your favor.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for support. Be prepared to give up your life. Learn from your mistakes.
Choose your business based on who you are.
Some of these so called ‘wisdoms’ seem logical but sometimes you need someone like Stuart to wrap that little tidbit of information into an anecdote so you actually understand and remember them.
IÂ also plan to read “A Good hard Kick in the Ass” by Rob Adams , “Made to Stick” by Chip and Dan Heath (Yes, brothers!) and the new book by Chuck Palahniuk: “Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey“.
But I actually had to buy those…
