Preople.com: Sold To Michael Arrington
Michael Arrington bought Preople.com from me.
No really!
I have 10+ witnesses of the deal taking place.
And I’m still waiting for my money.
Here is what happened:
About a year ago I was visiting the Techcrunch offices with a bunch of other entrepreneurs. We were all talking and Preople.com came up. Michael asked what my plans were and I responded:
‘I’m going to sell it. Are you interested?’
Michael laughed and said:
‘Yeah, for one dollar…’
To which I replied:
‘SOLD!!!’
Everybody laughed and then he asked if I would be interested in launching Fleck.com at his New York party. I was and we did.
So back to Preople.com. I stopped developing it a while ago but that didn’t stop its growth. No less than 1,708,777 names were looked up since we launched it and we still get between 500 and 1000 visitors a day. It would be great if someone could adopt the service and develop it some more.
And it won’t be difficult to top Michael’s offer…
hm, considering he beats you with 395.000 to 22.500 I think he making a good deal!
Would that mean I’d score up to 790.000 from my current 43 if i’d offer you $2 or is that too simple :-)
so eh, how do i delete my preople account? I can’t seem to be able to find the login anymore :(
Looks like you’ve been bitten by the spammers on that sight, all layout is nonfunctional at my browser and there are a lot of new users with absurd characters… too bad wanted to find out what it was..
