Respect for Lunch

Today I had lunch with Richard Derks from Respectance.com. They launched during The Next Web Conference but had some technical problems during their Showcase. I felt bad about that and suggested we have lunch to talk about it.

Richard is a great guy and we spoke at length about the conference. He had a great time, lots of attention from press, VCs and other people and wasn’t mad or disappointed at all. He did have a lot of great tips for next year and told me he had left some positive comments on several sites that wrote about the conference too.

If you haven’t checked them out do it now.
Their concept is simple but very elegant and, well, respectful…

Good to know that you don’t look at the conference as a one-off thing but rather keep in touch with the people / companies that presented at the conference.

Hi Kay, that is the difference between ‘normal’ conferences and the Next Web Conference. We live and breathe this stuff.

Nicely put. It’s not just TNW though, it seems as if it’s a state of mind you made into your daily mantra and it’s a great one at that.
