Web2.0 Video with Preople and Fleck

Dorus tiped us about a Web2.0 Video which he thought might be an inspiration for The Next Web Conference next week. Its a very creative video and only 9 minutes long so go and check it out. Two of our sites are being used to demo stuff in the video. Both Preople.com and Fleck.com are used to demonstrate stuff. So here it is: Patrick also blogged about this on the Fleck.com...

Hyped: Boris = Guru

Hyped.nl is a Dutch Weblog that started 6 yeards ago and talks about overhyped companies. They laid low for a few years but relaunched yesterday with a new lay-out and a promise of more fresh content in the future. They also have a 'Guru' section and it launched with only one guru: me. Maybe they should do more fact checking? ;-) Users can add gurus to the site. Check it out: Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten - Goeroe -...

My Bright and Colorful parents….

My New MacBook

The harddisk in my MacBook Pro stopped working last week. It didn't just stop but got slower every day up to a point where just starting up would take 2 hours. Tessa brought it to the Apple store and even they were impressed! They didn't see anything like it before. Makes me feel so special.... Yesterday I persuaded Arjen to buy a new MacBook and loan it to me until my MacBook Pro comes back from Apple. He bought the white 60GB version and upgraded it to 2gb internal memory. My MacBook...

Am I Getting Cynical?

My old set-up didn't work well so I decided to upgrade to the new Apple Airport Extreme today. I spent €179 on it and installed it when I got home. As you can guess it doesn't actually give you twice the reach that they promise and works just as lousy as the old hardware set-up. Somehow I am not too surprised and I hate that. I want to stay optimistic and not be one of those people who says "I knew that would happen" when something goes wrong. Luckily we are announcing a new...

Shoppen = Skypen & Hollen = Hyven

(This is about a dutch pressrelease for The Next Web Conference. So I'll continue in dutch now...)

Barend from Big Bang Ventures

We are having dinner with Barend from Big Bang Ventures. He is the judge for the Start-up arena and has the awful job of deciding who gets a table at The Next Web Conference. We are going over ALL the start-ups right now with a little help from a fine bottle of Brouilly Pisse-Vieille, oysters and rib-eye. As Patrick and I were exchanging oysters (different recipes) Barend offered us some, on the spot, good advice; he noticed us sharing some food and liked that. He said; "business...

Twones: Looking for Developer

Twones.com has been silently growing and working on their back-end the last few months. They are getting some growth and are even getting popular in Japan now! One thing they miss is a good developer who wants to join their team. Are you fluent in PHP and MySQL and willing to join a young start-up ready to revolutionize how people enjoy music? Do you want to earn less, work harder and get some shares? Contact Diederik at Twones.com for more...
