I dislike software patents as much as everyone online. But a small part of our technology proved to be innovative enough to patent. It was a nice thing to be able to say to investors, and our mothers, but that is as far at will take us. We won't have enough budget to actually patent the technology world wide (€80.000) and certainly not enough money to protect it, even if we wanted too... @Tijs: I’m not a patent proponent.
