Terrible Apple Airport Products
May 21st, 2007
For years now I have put up with Apple’s Airport hard- and software. And I have had it. It just sucks. Really.
I like Apple stuff. It is well designed, relatively stable and easy to use. But the Airport stuff always makes me so frustrated. I end up waiting for the software to finnaly connect to the hardware, which then crashes, after which the software crashes. Ugh.
And even when I do get my Airports to work together (I use three to cover my house and no, its not that big) the connection keeps dropping. At least one a month I have to unplug them just to make sure they keep working. Terrible!

I have an Apple Airport old school basestation and an Airpor Express and have never had one problem in all the years i use them!
Hi Erwin,
I use an Airport Extreme to beam the signal to two Airport Expresses who then beam the signal into my house. I’m 8 meters away from the Extreme and 2 and 5 meters from the Expresses but I justy can’t get them to connect. Even just managing them is a nightmare. It takes minutes to get the administration panels up and then usually it hangs. I’m about to throw them out of the window out of frustration and just upgrade to one new and updated Airport Extreme
and here was me thinking I was the only one who had this problem! Its so frustrating - especially when you tell other people about it - they just mock you for having a mac!
Just bought a new Airport Extreme. Hope that helps…
