You may have noticed a bit of new content in my blog sidebar. I’m experimenting with a couple of new services which have been launched recently. One is the Auction Ads service pictured here.
Auction Ads displays ads to eBay articles on your blog similar to Amazon does with their widget. I don’t think I will make ANY money on this but I like the idea and will try it for a month or so just to see if it works for people. So far I am getting a click through rate of almost 3% which isn’t bad at all for an ad.
Check out Auction Ads if you are looking for a friendly alternative to Google Ads or the Amazon widget….
If you are new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thank you for visiting and I am looking forward to hearing your comments!

My ears hurt and I can’t hear very well. My head is buzzing and I’m cold and shivering. Faye is keeping me company on the couch and when she noticed I was wearing my bathrobe she went looking for hers. Now we are enjoying ourselves with my Blackberry Pearl camera (the onyl Camera I have left besides my iSight) and my new Blackberry 8800.
I feel better already!
Ah, and Tessa is back from Boston since this morning and went ut to buy french fries together with Loïs. Not the most nutricious dinner but I don’t feel like cooking and Tessa is about to collapse from jet-lag too.

Valleywag posted a short blog about Michael Arrington and used a photo I made as an illustration. More important: they gave me full credit by adding my name + a link to my Flickr account.
Michael Arrington’s Razor-sharp Wit - Valleywag
Nice…
The photo was made at the Techcrunch party in New York right at the very second Michael launched Fleck.com by pressing one button. The reason he laughs is because we displayed a huge error on the Blackberry that suggested everything crashed at the server.

Today I’m expecting TWO new gadgets to arrive!!!
Ahh, I love the smell of a new gadget in the morning*.
The first is the ExpressCard 5-1 reader I wrote about before. I bought two: one for myself and one for Guido van Nispen. It slides into my MacBook Pro and accepts 5 different memory cards. No more cables! Just slide in the memory stick from your digital camera and download photos. What a relief.
The other gadget is the new Blackberry 8800. A friend offered to send me one after I complained about the Blackberry Pearl. He even told me he would send me the 8300 (the ultimate Bloggers Blackberry!) in two or three weeks!
Unfortunately these gadgets will be delivered to the office and I am at home with the kids. Oh well…

Yes these are the tools that Loïs plays with.
I wasn’t there (unfortunately) but Daniel J Ashes did another photoshoot in my livingroom. They used all sorts of stuff from all over the house to liven up the photos.
Loïs was there (before they brought out the doll!) and voluntered some of her toys. Daniel was very happy with the toys and included them in a few photos.
Original on Joey Elgersma’s website. The guy holding the doll is Brian from Mixin Recordings.
The girls are Tamara, Nianga and Marlies. I made them tea…

Here is an idea: Lets register twittermail.com (yes, it is available) and use MailTwitterPHP to set up a service for users of Twitter to redirect email to their twitter account.
Get it?
A user submits his or her Twitter account details at twittermail.com and gets a unique new emailaddress (alskhdftyyeoindhdfiewosnshjfkdfs@twittermail.com).
From that moment on each message this user emails to this unique and secret emailaddress is posted to their own Twitter account.
Shouldn’t be hard to builld if you know a little PHP and I will pay for the domain and hosting.
