How do I get in shape, fast!

Boris Ski MountainIn 3 weeks I’m going skiing. I’m in terrible shape. If I run up just one set of stairs I need a 5 minute break to catch my breath again.

Tonight I’m playing squash with mr Ashes and I hope the exercise will help a bit. But I’m not sure.

So what should I do to get in shape, in time? Should I give up? Start jogging? Get more sleep?

What do you think?

Go play rugby! It is a fun game, you make lots of new friends and it is magnificant for getting in shape and staying that way, plus it is a way more social game then soccer or any other game..

I’m not a professional fitness instructor but it would seem like some combination of endurance and interval would help you. Alternate session types and vary the lengths but do at least 30 minutes per session and work out at least every other day. Make sure you get enough sleep to recover.

For endurance I do jogging but any of cycling, rowing etc. should do. I play capoeira for my intervals, squash seems all right or some form of high intensity aerobics.

Have fun and don’t overdo it.

Wow, I’m too tired now to even consider any sports right now. After playing squash for an hour (no breaks!) we went swimming for 30 minutes and then to the sauna. Now I’m going to sleep….

get a good fitness club grade rowing machine and use it every other day for half an hour.
