MacBook Pro's can scare the shit out of you. I remember the first time i inserted a disc into the dvd drive and i almost crapped my pants hearing the sound of a disc being swallowed by my mac.

I had the same problem with my MacBook Pro! Closed it assuming it would go to sleep and then retrieved it from my Tumi bag as hot as a freshly boiled egg. Since I have got my new MacBook Pro t crashed and restarted more than 15 times after I closed the lid and assumed it would sleep. After I opended the lid again I noticed it was restarting...

This christmas I almost accidentally burned my macbook pro too. I was transferring some photo's (ofcourse with the damn cables and not with that fancy card reader thing i really would like to have) and when i was done with my photos i just closed the lit of my macbook and put its second skin, zipped that up and walked away assuming it would go on standby.

When i later returned to show someone a website on my macbook it was hot like hell and it really had that new factory smell goin'. Instead of going into standby mode it just kept on playing a heavy (heavy as in processor power intensive) screensaver.

Of course this is totally off-topic but it's better to prevent stuff like that because you won't get out of such a problem with a nifty key sequence.
